SAN DIEGO -

FUTURE SCHEDULES

San Diego State and Arizona State have agreed to a second home-and-home series in football beginning in 2027, the two schools announced today.

The Aztecs and Sun Devils, who in 2010 agreed to play each other in 2017 and 2018, will also meet on Sept. 18, 2027 in Tempe with the return game set for Sept. 16, 2028 at Qualcomm Stadium.

The series with ASU will come after a streak of at least 10 years where SDSU will play home-and-home matchups with Pac-12 schools. After playing Oregon State in 2013-14, San Diego State wraps up a home-and-home series with California on Sept. 10 at Qualcomm Stadium. The Aztecs are also slated to play a series with ASU (2017 in Tempe, 2018 at Qualcomm Stadium), a home-and-home with Stanford (2017 at Qualcomm Stadium, 2018 in Stanford), a series with UCLA (2019 in Los Angeles, 2020 at Qualcomm Stadium), a home-and-home with Arizona (2021 in Tucson, 2022 at Qualcomm Stadium) and finally a series with Utah (2021 at Qualcomm Stadium, 2022 in Salt Lake City).

With no non-conference games on the schedule from 2023-26 yet, SDSU and Arizona State will play one another in 2027 and 2028.

San Diego State and the Sun Devils have not played since 2007, but have met each other 11 times overall.

Last year, ASU was 6-7, including a 4-5 record in the Pac-12. Arizona State ended its season with a 43-42 loss to West Virginia in the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl.

The Aztecs are coming off an 11-3 season where they tied a school record for the most wins in a single year, finished with a 10-game winning streak (second-longest active FBS streak heading into 2016), won the MW title (20th conference title in program history) and beat Cincinnati, 42-7, in the Hawai'i Bowl.

SDSU kicks off the 2016 campaign at Qualcomm Stadium against New Hampshire on Sept. 3.
