ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- San Diego State will look to continue its elimination game run this morning when it takes on Nevada at 10:00 a.m. (PT) at the 2016 Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Wolf Pack dropped into the losers' bracket after falling to host New Mexico, 3-0, Friday night. They enter the day with a record of 34-23.
San Diego State stayed alive in tourney play after defeating No. 4 seed UNLV by the score of 18-8 Thursday morning in their only game of the day.
With that win the Aztecs improved their season record to 21-37.
If SDSU hopes to move on in the conference championship event it will have to avoid a repeat of Wednesday night's contest against Nevada when the Wolf Pack powered its way to a 13-5 victory over the Aztecs. It will also have to stop a run of seven straight defeats at the hands of the Wolf Pack this season.
Neither team had designated a starting pitcher for this morning's contest.
The winner of this game will remain at the field to take on No. 1 seed Fresno State, the upset loser against No. 5 Air Force Thursday afternoon, in a contest scheduled to get underway at 2:00 p.m. (PT). The loser will see its 2016 campaign come to an end.
