ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - It's win or go home for San Diego State and UNLV as the teams square off in an elimination game at the 2016 Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M., at 10:00 a.m.(PT) this morning.

On Wednesday, the Aztecs staved off elimination in the morning's tourney play-in game by defeating San Jose State, 7-3, on Justin Wylie's walk-off home run. They then had to turn around and face Nevada at 7:00 p.m. last night, only to fall 13-5 to the Wolf Pack and drop in to the losers' bracket.

UNLV, the tournament's No. 4 seed, suffered a mild upset at the hands of fifth-seed Air Force by a score of 15-7.

The Rebels enter today's contest with a record of 24-31. They are led offensively by Payton Squier (.374, 9 doubles, 27 RBI) and Kyle Isbel (.317, 8 triples, 27 RBI). As a team UNLV is hitting .266 with a 5.86 earned run average.

San Diego State is expected to send junior left-hander Brett Seeburger (1-3, 469).

The race for the Aztec batting title is almost a dead heat with Alan Trejo sporting a .301 average (4 doubles, 34 RBI) and Justin Wylie right behind him at .300 (12 doubles, 35 RBI).

The Aztecs are hitting .272 as a team with a 5.17 team earned run average.

The winners of this morning's SDSU-UNLV contest will remain alive to play another elimination game Friday morning (May 27) at 10:00 a.m. (PT) while the loser will have its 2016 campaign come to an end.
