SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Diego State will wrap up its 2016 regular season with a contest at San Jose State this afternoon with a contest set to get underway at 1:00p m. (PT) at Municipal Stadium in San Jose.
After SDSU's 5-0 win on Thursday, the Spartans bounced back to capture game two by a score of 2-1, and both schools will be looking to win the series heading into next week's conference tournament.
San Jose State comes into Saturday with a record of 17-37 overall and 7-22 in the Mountain West.
SDSU, meanwhile, has a record of 18-36 overall and 10-19 in league play.
Neither school had named a starting pitcher for this afternoon's contest with each side likely to save its primary hurlers for next week's tourney as their seeding have been decided.
It has been determined that the Aztecs will be the No. 6 seed and the Spartans the No. 7 seed for the Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque. As a result the teams will be involved in the play-in game on Wednesday, May 25, at 11:00 a.m. at UNM's Santa Ana Star Field.
The loser of that game will see its season come to an end while the winner will advance into the double elimination bracket and face either Nevada or New Mexico at 3:00 p.m. that day.
