W. Tennis Adds Marina Colvee For 2016-17 Campaign

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women's tennis head coach Peter Mattera announced the addition of Marina Colvee on Thursday. The Valencia, Spain native will graduate from 3̊ Instituto and will be on campus in time to compete during the 2016-17 season.

"I am extremely pleased and excited to add Marina Colvee to the Aztec women's tennis family," said Mattera. "Marina is an outstanding athlete and player. I am sure that she is going to make us better in all that we do here at SDSU, both on and off the court. Marina is very keen to begin her college career and become an Aztec. I am very proud that she has chosen San Diego State for her collegiate career."

Colvee will come to The Mesa as one of the top junior players in Valencia, Spain, currently ranked as the No. 54 player in the Valencia region and No. 146 junior in Spain. Colvee was crowned the winner of the 2015 Jordy Tour Circuit Valencia as well as earning the runner-up position of the XXXVII Circuito Alicantino de Tenis. In addition, the Spanish native qualified for the Master Tournament of XXXVII Alicantino Circuit.

During the 2015-16 campaign, Colvee notched victories over multiple top 50 players in Spain. She also holds victories in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 tournaments as well as being named an Elite Athlete in the Valencia region.
