"We had a very successful WIRA regatta," said head coach Bill Zack. "Congratulations to the Stanford lightweights, they look ready to defend their national championship. Our first eight had a really strong race and the silver medals are the best the team has done in a long time. More medals for the second eight, four and novice boats are great too. Obviously the points race at the American will be really tight between all of the conference teams. We are feeling very well prepared after this weekend and are looking forward to good training and good performances on spring semester final exams over the next two weeks."

San Diego State will next compete at the American Athletic Conference Championship on May 14.
