SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team has announced the dates for its Nike Aztec Soccer Academy and Camps, which will instruct male soccer players ages six-and-older in three separate camps located on the San Diego State University campus.
All camps are directed and organized by Aztec head coach Lev Kirshner and are staffed by coaches and players from SDSU. The ID Camp staff currently includes, but is not limited to, coaches from UC Irvine, the University of San Diego and Point Loma Nazarene. Coaches from CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, Eastern Oregon University and Cal Poly Pomona are also slated to join the ID Camp staff or are confirmed for the summer camp circuit. All camp instruction will occur on the SDSU soccer fields and all camps are available to any and all male participants. Campers will be grouped by age and ability.
Players high school age and older are invited to the ID Camp and the residential commuter camp. The ID Camp is a day-and-a-half of instruction on May 21-22, while there are two sessions of the Residential Commuter Camp: July 11-14 and July 14-17.
Both high school age camps will familiarize campers with the training and philosophies of the Aztec soccer program, and will incorporate tactical, technical and competitive exercises used in Aztec practice regimens. Additionally, an 11-v-11 competition during these camps will be coached and observed by collegiate coaches.
For players ages six through 12, there are three Youth Day Camp sessions: July 5-8, July 11-14 and July 15-18. The Youth Day Camps utilize fun and competitive developmental soccer activities to increase a camper's love of soccer, while improving upon the camper's skill and knowledge.
