NAPA, Calif. -- San Diego State's Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden) carded a 5-under par 67 on Monday to lead the 17th-ranked Aztec women's golf team during the second round of the Silverado Showdown on the par-72, 6,206-yard North Course at Silverado Resort and Spa. With her total, the SDSU senior catapulted 32 places into fourth on the individual leaderboard with a 36-hole total of 2-under 142.

Collectively, the Aztecs made the biggest jump of any squad in the 18-school field, vaulting eight spots into a tie for sixth after posting the second-lowest score of the second round with a 286. SDSU shaved a whopping 21 strokes from its total from the previous round to finish the day tied with Ohio State at 17-over 593.

Sporting three golfers in the individual top five, Stanford (-5) extended its lead in the team standings to 14 shots over second-place Oregon (+9), while Pepperdine (+12) climbed into the third position ahead of California (+13), followed by fifth-place Colorado (+15).

Individually, all five Aztec starters displayed upward mobility on Monday, led by Henrikson, who showed no lingering effects from an opening-round 75 by draining a team-high six birdies, highlighted by an impressive conversion on the par-4, 381-yard No. 1, which ranked as the fifth-toughest hole of the day. With her effort, SDSU's All-America candidate matched her second-best score as a collegian for 18 holes and finds herself just three shots off the pace heading into Tuesday's final round.

Stanford's Lauren Kim (-5) fired a second-round 69 to seize the top spot from first-round leader Cathleen Santoso of Oregon (-4), while fellow Cardinal teammate Casey Danielson (-3) occupies third position, followed by Henrikson and a logjam of six golfers tied for fifth at even-par.

Aztec junior Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah) made a fortuitous leap as well on Monday, rising 35 places up the ladder into a tie for 48th after posting the Scarlet and Black's second-best score of round two with a 71. The two-time all-Mountain West performer shook off the rust from an opening-round 81 by recording three birdies against one bogey, including a successful make on her finishing hole, the par-5, 474-yard No. 9.

In addition, SDSU received a pair of 74s during the second round from the sophomore duo of Haleigh Krause (Eugene, Ore.) and Georgia Lacey (Del Mar, Calif.).

Despite five bogeys, including four on the second nine, Krause still managed to climb seven places into a tie for 29th at 5-over 149 after finishing strong with a par-birdie-par. Lacey, meanwhile, remains one stroke in back of Krause in a tie for 38th at 6-over 150. The Torrey Pines High product also completed her round on a positive note with a birdie at No. 9 while notching a team-high 14 pars.

The Aztecs were also represented by fellow sophomore Mila Chaves (Asuncion, Paraguay), who moved 11 places into a tie for 72nd at 12-over 156 after carding a 75 on Monday. Following back-to-back bogeys after the turn at No. 2 and 3, Chaves reeled off five straight pars to go with a closing birdie on the ninth green.

The Silverado Showdown concludes on Tuesday when San Diego State tees off alongside Minnesota and Ohio State for the final round, commencing with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PT.
