SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Diego State will try to rebound from Friday's setbacks as it continues its three-game weekend series with Nevada this afternoon at 2:00 pm. (PT) at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
The Aztecs lost the completion of the suspended game from April 3 before dropping the regularly-scheduled contest last night and enter today's action with a mark of 12-28 overall and 5-12 in the Mountain West.
The Wolf Pack. meanwhile, has won five of its last six outings to improve to 21-20 (11-8 MW).
Nevada will open today's game with right-hander Chris Charpie (3-3, 4.72) on the mound. Charpie tossed a complete game victory in the Wolf Pack's 3-2 win over SDSU in Reno on April 2.
San Diego State is expected to start the contest with junior lefty Dominic Purpura (1-1, 4.40). Purpura has been arguably the Aztecs' most effective starter over the course of the season.
SDSU currently finds itself in sixth place in the conference standings with 13 games remaining in league play. It is currently thee games out of fourth and will look to move up the table prior to next month's Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque.
Nevada and San Diego State will wrap up their series on Sunday, May 1, with a contest scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m. (PT) at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
