RENO, Nev. - Sunday's series finale between San Diego State and Nevada was suspended in the 10th inning with the score tied at 6-6 when SDSU's travel commitments forced a premature halt to the contest. The game will be concluded when the Wolf Pack visits Tony Gwynn Stadium at the end of April.

A pair of unearned runs for Nevada in the bottom of the ninth forced the game it extra innings after the Aztecs had held the lead since the fifth.

After four scoreless innings, San Diego State broke on top by pushing four runs across in the top of the fifth. The visitors used five hits to take the 4-0 lead with run-scoring singles by Justin Wylie, Alan Trejo (2 RBI) and David Hensley.

The Aztecs made it 5-0 one inning later when Jordan Verdon singled, was sacrificed to second, took third on a ground out and scored on Wylie's second RBI single of the afternoon.

Nevada began its comeback with three runs (two earned) in the bottom of the sixth against SDSU starter Cody Thompson. The junior right-hander would depart after tossing 5.1 innings allowing those runs on eight hits with two walks and a pair of strikeouts.

The Wolf Pack closed to within a run one innings later with a marker against reliever Brian Heldman to make it a 5-4 contest. But SDSU restored its two-run advantage with a run in the top of the eighth on Wylie's third RBI of the day, a sacrifice fly to right that scored Verdon, who had singled to open the frame.

Nevada, however, responded with the two unearned runs in the ninth made possible by a pair of hits and two SDSU fielding errors to tie the contest at 6-6.

The Aztecs came up empty in the top of the 10th after which the contest was halted to allow SDSU to makes its flight home.

San Diego State will now prepare for a four-game home stand that starts on Tuesday, April 5, when Long Beach State visits Tony Gwynn Stadium for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
