IRVING, Texas - Former San Diego State football long snapper Jeff Overbaugh (Anchorage, Alaska) has been named to the 2016 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced today. To be eligible for the award, the athlete must own at least a 3.2 undergraduate GPA, complete his final year of eligibility in 2015 and be a starter or significant contributor throughout the 2015 campaign.

Overbaugh, one of three Aztecs to play in all 53 games over the past four years (2012-15) and also one of three in school history to play in 53 games at SDSU, was perfect last season in snaps, going 156-for-156 (includes punt snaps, PAT snaps and field goal snaps). He also added two tackles and a fumble recovery on the year, and was named a Rubio Long Snapping Second-Team All-American. Overbaugh was also honored as a top practice performer panel of NFL scouts and Reese's Senior Bowl personnel for his play over the week in Mobile in January, which featured some of the top draft eligible seniors in the nation.

Overbaugh helped San Diego State finish 2015 with an 11-3 record, which tied a school record for the most wins in a single year. The Aztecs finished with a 10-game winning streak (second-longest active FBS streak heading into 2016), won the MW title (20th conference title in program history) and beat Cincinnati, 42-7, in the Hawai‘i Bowl.

For his career, Overbaugh was perfect in snaps (510-for-510), while recording six tackles and a fumble recovery. He's also been a two-time MW Scholar-Athlete, three-time MW Fall All-Academic Team member and a winner of the SDSU's President's Award for High Academic Achievement, among many other academic accolades.
