Aztecs Stay Local at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational This Weekend
After another successful week at three separate meets, the San Diego State track and field team returns to action this weekend at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif., at Triton Track and Field Stadium. The two-day meet gets underway at 9:30 a.m. PT Friday with Saturday's festivities set for 10:30 a.m. PT.
Scheduled to compete in three events are Micha Auzenne (100, 100 hurdles and 4x100), Jazmen Bunch (100, 200 and 4x100) and Simone Glenn (100, 200 and 4x100), while Rachel Alesi (shot put and discus throw), Lisa-Anne Barrow (200 and long jump), Anushi Desai (discus throw and javelin throw), Bonnie Draxler (100 and pole vault), Kassidy Ellis (shot put and javelin throw), Alexa Evans (shot put and discus throw invitational), Ellison Grove (800 and 1,500), Katherine Magill (pole vault and hammer throw), Coryne McKenney (shot put and discus throw), Jelena McNown (100 hurdles and long jump), Kira Moreland (100 and long jump), Elaine Ribeiro (1,500 and 3,000-meter steeplechase), Rachel Roesgen (800 and 1,500), Lily Seynaeve (1,500 and 3,000) and Karsen Sper (100 hurdles and long jump) are entered in two events apiece.
Competing in one event are the following Aztecs - Je'Neal Ainsworth (100H), Marissa Berry (Pole Vault), Sara Curran (Pole Vault), Victoria Dickerson (Hammer), Madison Gipson (100H), Grace Hanshaw (5,000), Lakin Hatcher (400), Ashley Henderson (4x100), Courtney Jackson (Pole Vault), Cali King (1,500), Freja Liljedahl (Hammer), Lily Mayko (800), Hannah Sawatzki (5,000), Starlynn Singleton (100), Karen Snapper (Pole Vault) and Jasmine Young (400H).
The first day on Friday is all throwing events, starting with the hammer throw at 9:30 a.m. PT, followed by the pole vault (10 a.m. PT and 12:30 p.m. PT), the invitational discus throw (2:30 p.m. PT) and the open discus throw (4 p.m. PT).
The javelin throw starts off Saturday for SDSU at 10:30 a.m. PT, with the Léon T. Roach III invitational pole vault starting at 11 a.m. PT and the track events starting with the 4x100-meter relay at 11 a.m. PT. The meet for San Diego State concludes with the 5,000 at 7:25 p.m. PT.

Aztecs Among the Best
Less than three weeks until the postseason kicks off for San Diego State, the Aztecs are in good position for the Mountain West Championships (May 11-14), the NCAA West Prelims (May 26-28), the NCAA Championships (June 8-11), the U.S. Olympic Trials (July 1-10), and possibly, even the Olympics in Rio (Aug. 12-21).
