For Nevada, meanwhile, starting hurler Trevor Charpie would toss a complete game to up his season ledger to 2-1. Following SDSU's two-run second inning when it recorded three hits, the Aztecs managed only two hits and a pair of walks over the final seven frames. Two of those runners were erased via the double play and none advanced past first base.

Charpie retired the final nine men he faced to close out the game as he finished with five hits allowed with two walks and no strikeouts.

No Aztec had more than one hit in the game with Justin Wylie being the lone SDSU player to reach base more than once with a single and a walk.
