FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - San Diego State divers continued action at the Zone E Regional meet on Tuesday with competition on the 3-meter board being held at Northern Arizona‘s Tennis and Aquatic complex in Flagstaff, Ariz. A total of 59 female athletes from the western U.S. are vying for qualification for next week's NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships at Georgia Tech.
For the second day in a row, the Aztecs were led by Alexandra Caplan, whose score of 264.15 in the prelims put her in 23rd place. Her score was just under seven points shy of the mark needed to place her among the top 18 and gain entrance to the event finals.
Other SDSU divers on the 3-meter board included Makena Chamoures (244.40 – 35th), Nicole Dutton (238.55 – 42nd) and Payton Gabris (238.55 – 59th).
Top finisher in the prelims was Stanford's Gracia Leydon-Mahoney who turned in a score of 334.50.
The Zone E Regional meet concludes on Wednesday, March 9, with prelims on the platform set to get underway at 11:00 a.m. (MT). The finals session will begin at 1:35 p.m. (MT) that afternoon.
