SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego State baseball team will conclude its three-game home series against Mountain West leader New Mexico with a game this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Tony Gwyn Stadium.
The Aztecs (4-16, 1-5 MW) will look to stop a five-game skid that includes a pair of two-run losses to the Lobos this weekend.
Junior left-hander Brett Seeburger (0-0, 4.57) will try to slow down a UNM offense that is hitting .315 as a team and is averaging just under eight runs per game.
Although he had a 15-game hitting streak come to end Friday night vs. the Lobos, sophomore shortstop Alan Trejo continues to lead SDSU with a .360 batting average. Entering today's contest no other Aztec is hitting .300 or better.
As a team San Diego State enters the day with a .265 bating average along with a 5.46 earned run average.
New Mexico (15-7, 7-1 MW) is expected to start it third left-hander in three games today with Colton Thompson (2-1, 3.97) set to open this afternoon's contest on the mound.
Following today's action, San Diego state will get set to travel to Corvallis, Ore., where it will play a pair of contests against No. 3 Oregon State starting with a game Monday evening at 5:35 p.m. (PT) at the Beavers' Goss Stadium.
