The San Diego State lacrosse team faltered against No. 11/10 Stony Brook, dropping a 19-5 decision to the Seawolves on Aztec Lacrosse Field in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
The game, San Diego State's final before Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) play begins on Fri., March 18, was the Aztecs' third straight loss. SDSU falls to 1-5 on the season, while Stony Brook evens its record at 3-3.
After taking a 2-0 lead five minutes into the contest, the Aztecs' top freshman on offense put SDSU on the board 6:05 into the game. Jill Haight ripped one in from 15 yards out to cut the score to 2-1.

However, Stony Brook went on an 11-0 run, taking a commanding 15-3 lead five minutes into the second period.

With 20:59 remaining in the frame, she dished an assist to redshirt senior Katie Gill, making the score 15-4.
Nearly halfway through the second half, Ijeoma Ikpe closed out scoring for the Aztecs, scoring her first of the season on the free position to cut the Seawolves' lead to 16-5. Stony Brook would add three more for the final 19-5 score.
