SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego State baseball team will make just its second road trip of the 2016 season as it heads north to face Cal State Fullerton this evening at 6:00 p.m. at CSUF's Goodwin Field.

The Titans enter the contest with a record of 9-6 and a No. 23 ranking by D1Baseball.com. They are coming off a three-game sweep of Wichita State at home this past weekend.

Fullerton is led at the plate by designated hitter Dalton Blaser (.341, 2B, 3 RBI ) and shortstop Timmy Richards (.295, 3 2B, 2 HRT, 7 RBI). As a team the Titan's are hitting .232 with a 1.98 earned run average.

CSU Fullerton is expected to start sophomore left-hander John Gavin (1-0, 3.72) on the mound tonight.

San Diego State , meanwhile, has won three of its last four outings to move its record to 4-11 on the year. SDSU will start junior lefty Marcus Reyes (0-2, 8-84) this evening.

The Aztecs' top hitters include designated hitter Dean Nevarez (.395, 3 2B, HR, 8 RBI) and shortstop Alan Trejo (.394, 2 2B, 10 RBI). Justin Wylie is SDSU's top run producer with 11 RBI while Trejo leads the squad with 11 runs scored.

Following tonight's contest, the Aztecs will prepare for a trip to Colorado Springs, Colo., for a three-game Mountain West series at Air Force. That set gets underway on Friday, March 18, with a game scheduled to commence at 3:00 p.m. (MT) at Falcon Field.
