SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Registration is now open for the 2016 Aztec Volleyball Camps to be conducted in July at San Diego State University in July. The list of available camps is as follows:
TEAM CAMP
Team Camp will be held July 8-10 and is open to all teams. The camp focuses on improving the six basic skills needed to play successful volleyball. Skills will be taught in both individual and team settings. Teams will receive instructions by the SDSU Coaching staff and will interact with the SDSU Aztec players. Mornings will be devoted to skill development while the afternoons will consist of competitive play. Get a head start on your season as we will include drills that focus on offensive and defensive schemes and enable coaches and their teams to hone in on skill development and competition each day. Coaches are encouraged to come and coach their team.
ALL SKILLS CAMP
The SDSU All Skills Camp will be held July 13 and 14. We welcome all athletes looking to develop their game. Campers will learn the essential skills of volleyball including, basic ball control, serve receive passing, defense, blocking, serving and setting, in a fun and competitive environment. Drills and instructions will be modified and challenging for both beginning and experienced athletes. All Skills Camp is a commuter camp.
POSITIONAL CAMP
The Positional Camp will be held July 18 and is open to grades 5-12. The attacking clinic teaches campers every facet of attacking, i.e. dynamic transitioning off the net, multiple arm swings, transition from serve receive and different shots. The libero clinic will place major emphasis on communication, body posture, footwork, digging techniques, and platform contact for serve receive and defense. The setter clinic features technique-packed training sessions with an emphasis on hand position, body posture, footwork patterns, release, location, and decision making.
ELITE CAMP
Experience what it is like to train at the "Next Level" as an Aztec Athlete. The Elite Camp is a one-of-a-kind camp for athletes in grades 9-12 that will be held July 18 -21. This premier camp is designed to expose campers to the daily training systems used in a NCAA Division I program. The Elite camp is geared toward high level players who have aspirations and potential to play college volleyball, as campers will experience four days of intense, skill-specific training.
