SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State rowing team will open its spring season this weekend at home. SDSU will face Loyola Marymount on Saturday and USC on Sunday. Both days of racing will take place on Mission Bay in San Diego.
Saturday’s events against LMU will get underway at 8 a.m. The Lions will bring two boats to America’s Finest City; two eight crews. The second eight will be the first race followed by the first eight at 8:20 a.m. Saturday’s race will also serve as LMU’s first event of the spring.
On Sunday, the Aztecs will get back on the water to take on USC beginning at 9:30 a.m. The two Southern California schools will match up their respective third eight crews for the first race of the day. The second eights will face off at 9:40 a.m. followed by the four crew at 9:50 a.m. The final duel of the day with will the first eight race at 10 a.m. Sunday’s event will open the spring slate for the Trojans.
Spectators wishing to attend this weekend’s races are encouraged to park free of charge at the South Shores Park. From there onlookers can get a good view of the finish line.
Following the two races this weekend, San Diego State will travel north to face UCLA in Marina Del Rey, Calif., on March 5.
