PEORIA, Ariz. -- San Diego State women's golfer Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden) tied for the individual title on Monday after firing a 3-under par 69 during the final round of the Westbrook Spring Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Club.

With her card, the Aztec senior netted her third collegiate victory, sharing medalist honors with Brooke Ferrell of tournament host Wisconsin on the par-72, 6,269-yard Vistas Course.

Despite shaving nine strokes off its collective score from the previous round, SDSU slipped two places in the team standings, finishing the event in eighth place at 5-over 869, one shot in back of Oregon State (+4) for the seventh spot and four strokes behind sixth-place Notre Dame (+1).

With three players among the individual top 10, Oregon (-10) held off late charge from Ohio State (-5) to capture the team championship, while Kansas State (-3) took third, followed by UNLV (-1) and SMU (E).

Lurking just three shots off the pace at the start of the day, Henrikson vaulted six places on the leaderboard after sinking a team-high five birdies, including a crucial conversion on her second-to-last hole, the par-5, 487-yard No. 5, to complete the tournament at 5-under 211.

Despite notching an earlier bogey at No. 1, the native Swede remained cool down the stretch thanks to consecutive pars on her next three greens. Henrikson also faced a challenge at the finish on the par-4, 395-yard No. 6, which ranked as the third-toughest hole of the final round, but registered another par to maintain her lofty perch along with Ferrell, who closed with a rush on the strength of three straight birdies at Nos. 4-6.

Five golfers landed in a logjam for the third spot at 4-under, including Oregon's Cathleen Santoso and Caroline Inglis, who joined Connie Jaffery of Kansas State, SMU's Jenny Haglund and Erin Harper of Indiana.

Mila Chaves (Asuncion, Paraguay) was the Aztecs' No. 2 golfer behind Henrikson, finishing in a five-way tie for 18th at even-par 216 after shooting a final-round 73. The SDSU sophomore notched three birdies, including her finishing hole on No. 6, but three bogeys on the back nine hastened her drop out of the 11th position. Despite the stumble, Chaves still managed her third top-20 effort of the season.

Conversely, sophomore Georgia Lacey (Del Mar, Calif.) climbed seven places into a tie for 33rd after tying her lowest score of the year with a 72. The Torrey Pines High product played steady golf on Monday, recording 16 pars while offsetting one bogey with a birdie on the par-5 fifth to finish at 3-over 219 for the week.

Elsewhere, Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah) slipped two spots into a tie for 53rd at 7-over 223 on the heels of a final-round 73. The Aztec junior offset a bogey on her first hole, the par-4 ninth, with a pair of birdies at No. 13 and No. 17. However, a double-bogey on her final green, the par-5 seventh, prevented a climb up the leaderboard.

In addition, sophomore Haleigh Krause (Eugene, Ore.) was unable to gain any significant ground on Monday after carding a 78 to tie for 84th at 22-over 238. Despite a birdie at No. 15, Krause's day was hampered by five bogeys and one double-bogey.

The Scarlet and Black contingent also included freshman Hana Furuichi (San Diego, Calif.), an unattached golfer who finished her second collegiate tournament in a tie for 43rd at 5-over 221. The Torrey Pines High alumna shot a final-round 76 highlighted by 15 pars.

San Diego State returns to the course next week when it travels to the Central Coast for the Bruin Wave Invitational, Feb. 29- March 1, in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
