COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fourteen members of the San Diego State women's swimming and diving team have been named to the 2016 All-Mountain West team based on their performances at the recently completed MWC Swimming & Diving Championships held in College Station, Texas, last week.
To be placed on the all-conference team, an individual must place in the top eight in the finals of their event. For the relays, the all-conference team consists of the top three finishers in each race. SDSU had all three of its relay quartets earn all-MWC honors.
A total of 12 Aztecs earned all-conference accolades in individual events while two others garnered the honor as a member of three winning relay teams.
SDSU swimmers captured one individual event and place second in four other. Senior Taylor Johnson won the 50 freestyle while silver medals were picked up by Racheal Kelch (200 fly, 400 IM), Whitney Weisz (100 free) and Summer Harrison (100 fly).
San Diego State finished third of the 10 teams at the Mountain West championship this season after finishing with an 11-1 record in dual meet competition.
