SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Diego State will continue its season-opening series against No. 14 Oregon this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. (PT) at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
In Friday nights 2016 debut, the Aztecs dropped an 8-2 decision to the Ducks, who scored six times in the final frame to break a 2-2 deadlock.
Sophomore DH David Hensley led the Aztec attack with a single and double to account for two of SDSU's seven hits on the night. But SDSU wasted a strong pitching performance by junior Marcus Reyes, who tossed seven innings allowing a pair for runs on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
San Diego State will send junior right-hander Cody Thompson to the mound today where he will be opposed by Ducks' junior lefty Matt Krook.
The Aztecs and Ducks will wrap up their three-game series on Saturday (Feb. 21) at noon at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
