SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State women's basketball team will "Play4Kay" on Saturday when the Aztecs square off against San José State at Steve Fisher Court at Viejas Arena. Game time is set for 2 p.m. PT.

The 2016 Play 4Kay initiative is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise awareness and funds for women's cancer research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has helped the Kay Yow Cancer Fund support $5.18 million in women's cancer research and related projects.

SDSU is joining over 1,000 schools in the Play 4Kay initiative to keep the story and legacy of former North Carolina State head coach Kay Yow, who lost her fight with breast cancer in January 2009, at the forefront.

As part of this Saturday's showdown, the Aztecs will be wearing special pink uniforms, while the first 300 fans in attendance will receive a free pink pom-pom. In addition, SDSU will hold a silent auction at the game to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Prizes include a pink Aztec women's basketball jersey, a ticket package to upcoming SDSU athletic events and autographed basketballs signed by head coach Stacie Terry and her team.

Registration for the silent auction will take place on the arena concourse (checks only), and winners will be announced during the second half of the Aztecs-Spartans clash.

Tickets for Saturday's contest, as well as SDSU's other remaining home games, may be purchased online at GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling 619-283-7873, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium Window E. The ticket office is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
