COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The 2016 Mountain West swimming & Diving Championships get underway today with finals in three events beginning at 4:30 p.m. (PT) in College Station, Texas.
This evening's session begins with the final of the 200 medley relay. That will be followed by the finals of the 1-meter springboard diving and the session will end with the final of the 800 freestyle relay.
Earlier today SDSU sophomore Alexandra Caplan placed second in the prelims of the 1-meter diving with a score of 307.20. Fellow Aztec Payton Gabris placed 13th int he prelims, one spot outside of advancing tot he finals. She placed third in the consolation final with a mark of 266.45.
The conference championship meet will continue over the next three days with prelims in several events getting underway at 9:00 a.m. (PT) each day and finals commencing at 4:30 p.m. (PT) each afternoon.
The defending champion Aztec have been picked to finish third of the 10 teams at this year's conference championships.
