Returning players with starting experience: Daniel Brunskill
The Aztecs may be short on starting experience here, but they're not short on potential.
With senior Robert Craighead having been relocated to right guard, junior Daniel Brunskill (6-5, 255), who played in all 26 games the past two seasons, enters fall camp at No. 1 on the depth chart. Brunskill was the leading receiver among the team's tight ends last season.
But Long also is intrigued by the futures of sophomores David Wells (6-5, 255) and Darryl Richardson (6-5, 250). Wells has excellent hands, while Richardson is a former dual-threat quarterback from Florida who was moved to tight end upon his arrival at SDSU in 2013.
"We think we've got a good player in Brunskill because he's played a lot, but the other two guys have enormous upside," Long said. "They're tall, they're big, they can run and they can catch."
