San Diego State Future Football Schedules

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State athletic department announced today that the Aztec football team will play New Hampshire on Sept. 3, 2016. The game will serve as the season opener for the Aztecs.

New Hampshire posted a 12-2 record last season as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association and entered the FCS playoffs as the top-ranked team in the country. The Wildcats have qualified for the FCS playoffs an NCAA-best 11 consecutive seasons and have recorded double-digit victory totals in six of the last 11 years. Since the beginning of the 2004 campaign, New Hampshire is the third-winningest FCS program in the country, posting a 103-40 record.

This will mark the first meeting between the Aztecs and Wildcats.

San Diego State's 2016 non-conference schedule is complete and features games against New Hampshire, California (Sept. 10), at Northern Illinois (Sept. 17), and at South Alabama (Oct. 1).

The contest against New Hampshire takes the place of a previously scheduled home game against New Mexico State. That contest will now be the season opener in 2021, with the Aztecs and Aggies meeting in San Diego on Sept. 4 of that year.

SDSU football season tickets and mini-plans are currently on sale for the 2015 season. They can be purchased at GoAztecs.com, by calling (619) 283-7378 or visiting the Aztec Athletic Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium Window E.

San Diego State, one of 27 schools to play in a bowl game each of the last five seasons and one of just three from the "Group of 5" conferences, finished 2014 with a 7-6 record and 5-3 in MW action. To date, four preseason publications have the Aztecs winning the West Division of the Mountain West in 2015.
