SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's soccer players Kyle Adams and Matt Callahan were named 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division I All-Far West Region third team honorees, the association announced.

Adams and Callahan are the first Aztec pair to earn all-region honors since Tally Hall and Nick Cardenas were named NSCAA All-Far West in 2006. Hall is currently a member of Major League Soccer's Orlando City, while 2006 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Nick Cardenas was drafted in the third round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft by the Kansas City Wizards.

Adams is the Aztecs' third freshman to receive All-Region honors, and the program's first since 2006. The Auckland, New Zealand native started 18 of 19 contests for San Diego State at centerback, anchoring an Aztec backline that recorded the third-most shutouts (6) and fourth-lowest goals against average in the Pac-12 (1.29).

A junior, Callahan started 17 games, ranking second among Aztec defenders with five points (one goal, three assists). The Newton, Mass., native posted career highs in all offensive categories, earning the first postseason honor of his collegiate career.

In 2015, San Diego State notched its best record since 2011 at 8-8-3, wrapping up the campaign with a thrilling 1-0 double overtime win at home over No. 16 UCLA. Three Aztecs garnered All-Pac-12 honors, with forward Rene Reyes collecting second team honors, and goalkeeper Adam Allmaras and defender Travis Nicklaw picking up honorable mention accolades. Additionally, Allmaras, junior midfielder Casey Macias and senior defenders Casey Phillips and Mark Revell earned Academic All-Pac-12 recognition.
