SAN DIEGO -

SDSU NOTES vs. WYOMING | GAMEDAY CENTRAL

San Diego State Looks to Become Bowl Eligible Saturday Against Wyoming
* Riding a five-game winning streak, San Diego State (6-3, 5-0 in MW-West) plays host to Wyoming (1-9, 1-5 MW-Mountain) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. PT on CBS Sports Network, and on the Mighty 1090 AM and 105.7 The Max for Homecoming Weekend.

* On Oct. 31, San Diego State won its seventh straight league game with a 41-17 victory over Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo. The Aztecs outscored the Rams, 28-7, in the second half and outgained CSU, 279-120, in the final two quarters.

* SDSU has won five straight games overall, its longest streak since a seven-game winning streak to close out the 2012 regular season en route to the 19th conference championship in program history.

* The Aztecs have won 14 straight home contests against unranked conference opponents. That is tied for the third-longest active streak in the country (Clemson 23, Alabama 16, Ohio State 14) and the longest active streak in the MW.

* During the 14-game home conference win streak against unranked opponents, SDSU has outscored its opposition, 488-231. An average score of 34.9 to 16.5. The Aztecs are +19 in turnover margin those 14 games.

* SDSU has won eight consecutive conference home games, dating back to a 35-28 loss to No. 15 Fresno State on Oct. 26, 2013.

* San Diego State has won seven consecutive league games, which is tied for the six-longest streak in the nation. During that span, the Aztecs have outscored the opposition, 236-80, (33.7-11.4). SDSU is 23-5 over its last 28 MW games.

* SDSU is coming off a perfect 5-0 October, its first 5-0 month since Nov. 1969 and just the third in the 93-year history of the program. Only four other FBS teams won five games last month: Appalachian State, Clemson, Houston and Marshall.

* In October, San Diego State led the nation in fewest yards allowed per game (219.0). Astonishingly, that was 28.0 yards per game better than the next-lowest figure. SDSU also led the nation during that time frame in yards allowed per play (4.9) and ranked second in scoring defense (11.8 ppg). The Aztecs were also fourth in rushing yards allowed per game (81.4), fifth in rushing yards allowed per attempt (2.6), sixth in opponent passing rating (92.6) and seventh in opponent third-down conversion percentage (28.1 percent) last month.

* Offensively in October, SDSU ranked fourth in pass efficiency rating (187.7), in a tie for eighth in rushing touchdowns (14) and ninth in rushing yards per game (273.6). Additionally, San Diego State was one of just seven teams that did not throw an interception in October.

* The Aztecs have held their last 12 conference opponents below 400 yards of total offense, which is tied with Clemson for the active FBS lead. Over the 12 games, SDSU's opponents are averaging just 269.5 yards per game.

* San Diego State rushed for 276 rushing yards in its win at Colorado State. The Aztecs have won 18 straight games when rushing for at least 200 yards and are 26-2 in the Rocky Long era when reaching 200-plus yards.

* SDSU has five straight games with at least 200 yards rushing for the first time in its Division I history (since 1969).

* Junior running back Donnel Pumphrey rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns at Colorado State, while adding two catches for 47 yards and another score. It was his fifth straight 100-yard rushing game and he passed 1,000 yards for the season for the second consecutive year (one of five players in school history with multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons). He passed Larry Ned into second place on the school's all-time rushing list with 3,650 (Marshall Faulk - 4,589).

* For the first time in the school's Division I history (since 1969), SDSU has gone seven consecutive games without throwing an interception (prior to this stretch the Aztecs had never gone five straight games without a pick). Senior quarterback Maxwell Smith has now gone 125 attempts without throwing an interception (fourth-longest active streak nationally )and has eight TD passes over that span.

* Junior running back Donnel Pumphrey (offense), junior cornerback Damontae Kazee (defense) and senior Donny Hageman (special teams) swept the MW Weekly awards for their play at CSU. It was just the sixth time in the 17-year history of the league that a team has swept the weekly awards (excluding co-players).
