- The top-seeded Aztecs are in the Mountain West championship game after defeating fifth-seeded Colorado College, 2-0, on Thursday. SDSU received goals from Zsuria Phare (71st minute) and Dani DeRosa (85th minute) to emerge victorious.

- San Diego State is playing in its fourth consecutive Mountain West final and is 3-0 in the previous three.

- The match-up features the top offensive team during conference play (San Diego State) and the top defense (SJSU). The Spartans, however, gave up just one fewer goal than the Aztecs (6-7).

- The Aztecs defeated the Spartans on Senior Day, 2-1, back on Oct. 18. SJSU scored in the fourth minute (Dorthe Hoppius), but SDSU scored in the fifth (Aliyah Utush) and 56th minutes (Leah Pruitt) to earn the victory.

- San Diego State is 9-1 all-time vs. San José State and is currently on a nine-game winning streak vs. the Bay Area school. SDSU is 6-0 vs. SJSU in San Diego.

- Goalkeeper Melanie Vaughn is one shutout away from setting the new school record. The senior has 25.5 clean sheets and trails only Aubree Southwick's 26 (2007-10).
