COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Redshirt freshman Deja Harris has been named to the all-Mountain West volleyball team while junior Baylee Little has received honorable mention accolades for her play during the 2015 season as well.
Harris, an outside hitter from Las Vegas, Nev. (Calvary Chapel HS), led the Aztecs in kills, both overall (2.30 per set) and in conference matches (2.141 per set). She ranked ninth in the Mountain West in blocks with an overall average of 1.04 per set in league contests, a mark that improved to 1.05 per set in conference matches. In addition, she was seventh in the conference in hitting percentage in all games (.315).
Harris' highs during the 2015 campaign included 16 kills vs. Bakersfield (Aug. 29), and 10 total blocks at UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 19). She also hit a season-high .700 in the win at New Mexico on Sept. 24, an effort that included 15 kills and seven blocks.
Little, an outside hitter from Gilbert, Ariz. (Hamilton HS), averaged 2.22 kills per set along with 0.52 blocks and 0.35 digs in Mountain West competition. Her averages in all matches included 2.27 kills, 0.54 blocks and 0.58 digs per set.
During the season Little set her SDSU career high with 17 kills in the win over New Mexico on Oct. 24 and also established her Aztec best in service aces on two occasions with four against both Oregon State (Sept. 5) and Eastern Washington (Sept. 11). She hit .300 or better in 12 of the matches in which she appeared.
San Diego State ended its 2015 season with an overall mark of 12-19 and 9-9 in the Mountain West as it finished in a tie for fifth place in the final conference standings. The Aztecs ended their 2015 campaign with a late-season surge that saw them record victories in five of their final six matches. The Aztecs' 9-9 league record also means that they have finished at .500 or above in conference play each of the past six seasons.
