Nevada-San Diego State Postgame Notes

Win Streaks
• San Diego State won its eighth consecutive game, the fifth-longest active streak nationally trailing Clemson (15), Iowa (12), North Carolina (11), and Alabama (9). It is the Aztecs' longest winning stretch since a 10-game winning streak during the 1976-77 seasons.
• San Diego State has not trailed in the second half during its eight-game winning streak.
• SDSU won its 10th straight Mountain West game, the second-longest conference winning streak in the nation trailing only Western Kentucky (11). This is the second-longest streak in school history, trailing only a 23-game stretch from 1965-70.
• San Diego State won its 16th straight home conference game against opponents unranked in the AP Top 25 at game time, tied for the second-longest active streak nationally (Clemson (24), Alabama (16)). Does not include current independent teams.
• The Aztecs won their 10th consecutive home conference game dating back to a 35-28 loss to No. 15 Fresno State on Oct. 26, 2013. During the 10-game conference winning streak, SDSU is outscoring the opposition, 357-111.
• San Diego State has not lost a game in 63 days (since Sept. 26).
• The Aztecs are the only team in the country to win eight straight games by at least 10 points.
• San Diego State won its eighth straight game by at least 14 points for the first time since an eight-game stretch from Dec. 6, 1969-Oct. 31, 1970.

Undefeated Conference Record
• San Diego State (8-0) completed its first undefeated conference campaign since Claude Gilbert's 1974 squad completed PCAA play with a 4-0 record.
• This is the 14th undefeated conference season in school history.
• This is the first time in 93 football seasons that the Aztecs have ever been 8-0 in conference play. Prior to this season, SDSU's best league record in any point during a season was 6-0.
• San Diego State completed the first regular-season undefeated Mountain West campaign since 2011 when TCU posted a 7-0 record. In all, the 2015 Aztec team becomes just the 10th team in the 17 Mountain West seasons to go undefeated in league play.
• SDSU became one of just six schools in the last 20 seasons (since 1996) to complete an undefeated league season with each victory coming by double-digits (also Miami (Fla.) in 2000, Boise State in 2002, Oklahoma in 2003, Utah in 2004 and Florida State in 2013).
• San Diego State is one of just six schools to be undefeated in league play as of Nov. 28, joining Clemson (8-0) and North Carolina (8-0) in the ACC, Iowa (8-0) in the Big Ten, Western Kentucky (8-0) in Conference USA and Arkansas State (7-0, plays at Texas State next Saturday) in the Sun Belt.

Season Notes
• San Diego State won its ninth game of the year, matching its highest single-season total in the last 38 seasons. The Aztecs also won nine game in 2010 (with Brady Hoke head coach and Rocky Long defensive coordinator) and 2012 (with Rocky Long as head coach).
• The last SDSU head coach prior to Rocky Long to produce multiple nine-win seasons while a member of a conference was Don Coryell.
• San Diego State ended the season with a 5-1 home record and the Aztecs have now won 13 of their last 14 regular-season games (13-1) at Qualcomm Stadium.

Team Notes
• SDSU improved to 26-5 (.839) over its last 31 Mountain West games.
• San Diego State held its 15th straight conference opponent below 400 yards of total offense, the longest active streak in the country. Opponents are averaging just 263.9 yards per game over that stretch.
• SDSU held Nevada to 35 yards rushing, its fewest since rushing for seven yards at Louisiana Tech in on Sept. 6, 2004 and seventh fewest in game since 1996.
• The Aztecs improved to 14-3 in its last 17 games played during the month of November.
• Donnel Pumphrey rushed for 154 yards, his eighth straight 100-yard rushing game, ninth of the year and 22nd of his career. The eight straight 100-yard rushing games ties George Jones (1995) for the second-longest streak in program history, is tied for the longest active streak in FBS play and is the longest streak in Mountain West history.
• Chase Price also broke 100 yards rushing for the third time this season and fourth time of his career.
• San Diego State had a pair of 100-yard rushers in the same game for the third time this season (also vs. Wyoming and against Fresno State) and for the 21st time in program history (Aztecs are 20-1 in those games).
• SDSU won its 21st consecutive game when rushing for at least 200 yards and are now 29-2 in the Rocky Long era when rushing for 200-plus yards.
• San Diego State broke 200 yards rushing for the eighth straight game, extending its longest streak in its Division I history (since 1969).
• The Aztecs did not throw an interception for the 10th straight game, extending the program's longest streak in its Division I history (since 1969).
• SDSU scored in the first quarter for the 20th time in 21 games.
• The Aztecs scored a touchdown on their opening drive for the sixth time this year in 12 games.
• The Aztecs allowed seven points in the first quarter and is now outscoring its eight MW opponents, 94-14, in the first quarter this year.
• SDSU outscored Nevada, 21-14, in the first half and is now outscoring the opposition, 165-45, in the first half of its eight MW games.
• SDSU has a rushing touchdown in 10 straight games (27 total) and in 20 of its last 21 games, and seven straight with multiple rushing scores (24 total).
• San Diego State improved to 23-3 over its last 26 games when recording at least two rushing touchdowns.
• The Aztecs improved to 13-1 over their last 13 games when they outrushed their opponent.
• San Diego State improved to 20-2 over its last 22 games that it didn't throw an interception.
• SDSU improved to 40-11 in the Rocky Long era when scoring just 20 or more points.
• San Diego State forced multiple turnovers for the seventh straight game (23 total).
• In Mountain West play (eight games), the Aztecs have forced 23 turnovers and have lost just four.
• SDSU recorded its third straight game with 14-plus points in the first quarter, the first time that has happened since the first three games of the 2011 season.
• San Diego State has at least one interception in seven straight games (15 total).
• The Aztecs have scored in 17 straight quarters.
• SDSU has 30 or more points in six straight games.

Trends
• SDSU started with the ball for the 49th time over the last 53 games.
• San Diego State won the coin toss for the 16th time over the last 22 games.
• The Aztecs have now gone 115 games without suffering a shutout (Nov. 18, 2006 at TCU), which is the third-longest streak among current Mountain West schools (Air Force at 283 and Boise State at 237). That is the only time SDSU has been shut out in their last 208 games.
• San Diego State improved to 9-1 on the season and 30-11 in the Rocky Long era when scoring first.
• The Aztecs improved to 8-1 on the year and 28-7 in the Rocky Long era when leading after the first quarter.
• SDSU improved to 8-1 on the season and 26-7 in the Rocky Long era when leading at the half.
• San Diego State improved to 9-1 on the year and 34-8.

The Series
• SDSU improved to 5-3 all-time against Nevada, including wins in four of the last five meetings.
• San Diego State improved to 4-0 vs. the Wolf Pack in San Diego.

Player Notes
* Donnel Pumphrey, Jr., RB (23 att., 154 yds., 2 TD)
• Rushed 23 times for 154 yards (6.7 avg.) and two touchdowns.
• Broke 100 yards rushing for the eighth straight game, ninth time this season and 22nd time of his career.
• The eight straight games with a 100-plus yards is tied for the longest active streak in FBS, tied for the second-longest streak in program history, and is the longest streak in Mountain West history.
• Broke 4,000 rushing yards for his career with a season-long 72-yard run in the second quarter. He's now one of just two Aztecs (Marshall Faulk, 4,589) and one of two players in Mountain West history (New Mexico's DonTrell Moore, 4,973) with at least 4,000 rushing yards.
• Scored his 15th and 16th rushing touchdowns of the season and now has 44 for his career.
• Scored his 17th and 18th overall touchdowns on the year and now has 48 for his career.
• It was 12th career game with multiple rushing touchdowns and 14th overall with multiple scores.
• San Diego State improved to 20-7 over his career when he records at least one rushing touchdown and 18-4 when he reaches 100 yards.

* Chase Price, Sr., RB (19 att., 112 yds., 1 TD | 3 rec., 10 yds. | 2 KR, 36 yds.)
• Rushed for 112 yards on 19 carries (5.9 avg.), while adding three catches for 10 yards (3.3 avg.).
• Scored a touchdown for the sixth straight game, the longest stretch of his career (previous longest was three games).
• It was his sixth rushing touchdown of the season (seventh overall) and 12th of his career (13th overall).
• Reached double figures in rush attempts for the eighth straight game, extending the longest streak of his career.
• Also added two kicks returns for 36 yards (18.0 avg.)

* Maxwell Smith, Sr., QB (3-for-3, 44 yds., 0 TD, 0 INT)
• Was 3-for-3 for 44 yards, before exiting early with a knee injury.
• It was his 10th straight game without throwing an interception.
• Has now attempted 164 consecutive passes without throwing an interception and has 12 touchdowns over that span.

* Christian Chapman, RS-Fr., QB (6-for-9, 44 yds., 0 TD, 0 INT)
• Was 6-for-9 for 44 yards off the bench with Maxwell Smith going down with an injury early in the game.
• Set career highs with six completions and 44 yards.

* Rashaad Penny, So., RB (6 att., 21 yds., 1 TD | 2 rec., 28 yds. | 1 KR, 18 yds.)
• Rushed six times for 21 yards and a touchdown.
• It was his third rushing touchdown this season (and of his career) and his sixth overall score this year (and of his career).

* Malik Smith, Jr., WAR (8 tackles, 1 INT, 3 PBU)
• Had eight tackles, one interception and three pass break ups.
• Recorded an interception for the fourth time in five games and now has four on the season and seven for his career.
• The three PBUs tied a career high and did his one pick.

* Jake Fely, Sr., LB (7 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery)
• Had seven tackles, including a half for a loss, one forced fumble and one recovery.
• Forced his third fumble of the season and eighth of his career, which is tied for the third most in program history.
• The fumble recovery was his first since Oct. 13, 2012.

* Damontae Kazee, Jr., CB/PR (4 tackles, 1.0 TFL, 1 INT, 1 PBU)
• Had four tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception and one pass break up.
• The interception gives him seven for the year and nine for his career.
• The seven INTs are second in Mountain West single-season history.

* Calvin Munson, Jr., LB (8 tackles, 0.5 sack, 0.5 TFL)
• Had a team-high tying eight tackles, including 0.5 tackle for loss and 0.5 sack.
• Now has 13.0 sacks in his career, including nine this season.

Other Notes
• J.J. Whittaker started for the 38th consecutive game, which leads all Aztecs (doesn't include specialists).
• Jeff Overbaugh, Pierre Romain and Jon Sanchez each played in their 51st straight game, the most of any current SDSU player.
• Tonight's Aztec Honor Warrior was Mike Douglass (1976-77).
• Tonight's game temperature was 53 degrees, the coldest home game for the Aztecs since Nov. 24, 1984 vs. Long Beach State (51 degrees).
• Tonight's attendance was 22,939.
