SAN FRANCISCO - San Diego State men's soccer sophomore Brady Blackwell has been named the Pac-12 Player of the Week for Nov. 17 after helping the Aztecs to a 1-0 season-ending win over No. 16 UCLA on Nov. 14.
Blackwell is San Diego State's first Pac-12 Player of the Week honoree this season. This is also the first weekly honor of his career.
Blackwell scored the match-winner in the second minute of double overtime against the Bruins. The Dublin, Ohio native's tally was his second goal, and second match-winner, of the season. He also logged a career-high 102 minutes in that match.
The victory gave the Aztecs' their first win over UCLA since Oct. 6, 2007, when SDSU beat the Bruins by the same 1-0 margin. The victory also handed the Aztecs' their best record since 2011 (8-8-3).
