Aztecs Visit SJSU, Host Nevada to Conclude Season

AZTECS WRAP UP 2015 SEASON AWAY AT SAN JOSE STATE & HOME TO NEVADA
San Diego State will conclude it 2015 campaign with a match on the road this weekend followed by a home contest next week. SDSU will be on the road for a trip to northern California where it will face San Jose State on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 1:00 p.m. (PT) in Spartan Gym. The Aztecs will then conclude their season next Tuesday (Nov. 24) with a home match against Nevada at 6:00 p.m. on Aztec Court. Live stats will be available for both matches this weekend with links located at GoAztecs.com. In addition, live video streaming of the two contests will be available at the SDSU web site.

SERIES RECORDS
*** The Aztecs have a mark of 18-8 against San Jose State in a series that dates back to 1977. The teams have not yet met this season. Last year the Aztec swept a pair of contests from the Spartans after each team won on its home floors during the 2013 campaign. Prior to that the teams had last met in 2009 at The Invitational in Seattle and prior to that had not squared off since the 1998 campaign. SDSU has a record of 10-2 vs. the Spartans in San Diego, 5-6 in San Jose and 3-0 on neutral courts.
*** San Diego State all-time record vs. Nevada is 4-3 with the teams having met on only seven previous occasions. This will be the lone meeting between the teams in 2015. In each of the past two seasons the Aztecs split matches with the Wolf Pack, winning on Aztec Court and falling in Reno. SDSU also split contests with Nevada during the 2012 season. The Aztecs' other victory in the series came in three sets during the 2011 Aztec Invitational in San Diego.

SENIOR NIGHT
The match against Nevada on Nov. 24 has been designated as Senior Night when the volleyball program will honor a pair of athletes playing their final match for the Red and Black. That duo includes middle blocker Kaja Sandberg and outside hitter Ciara Brown. Brown is a fourth-year senior for the Aztecs while Brown has been a member of the team for two seasons following her transfer from South Florida in 2014.

CAGE COMING ON
Alexis Cage recorded her second double-double of the season (and second in three matches) with 10 kills and 14 digs in the win at Utah State on Nov. 14. It was the sixth time in double figures in digs this season for the sophomore outside hitter. Her first double-double came vs. UNLV (10 kills-10 digs) on Nov. 7.

LITTLE ATTACKS
Baylee Little led the Aztec with 16 kills in the five-set win at Utah State on Nov. 14. She hit .375 in that contest, the 11th time this season she has been above the .300 mark in attack percentage in a match. She recorded a team-high 11 kills in the win over UNLV on Nov. 7. Little set a career high with 17 kills in the win over New Mexico on Oct. 24.

PRITCHARD AT LIBERO
Sophomore libero Devyn Pritchard recorded a career-high seven assists in the win over Utah State on Nov. 14. She also tallied 13 digs in that contest, her highest total in the past five matches. She had a streak of 13 matches in which she recorded at least one assist end in the contest vs. UNLV on Nov. 7 when she appeared in only one set.

BOLDEN ON THE OFFENSIVE
Defensive specialist Dani Bolden set a career high with 12 digs in the victory at Utah State on Nov. 14. She had tied her previous high a week earlier with 11 digs vs. Fresno State (Nov. 5) and also had a pair of service aces. She led the Aztecs with 10 kills in the contest at Colorado State on Oct. 29.

PSOMA AMONG THE LEADERS
Freshman Alexandra Psoma recorded the final two kills of the match in the five-set win at Utah State on Nov. 14. In that match she set a career high with five blocks and also added eight kills, two assists, two service aces and three digs. She had a career-high 13 digs along with 14 kills vs. New Mexico on Oct. 24 to record her second double-double of the season.

HARRIS SOLID AT THE NET
Redshirt freshman Deja Harris had a career-best nine block assists in the win at Utah State on Nov. 14. She also had 12 kills in that match to just miss her first career double-double. Harris has averaged 1.65 blocks over SDSU's past five matches. She has recorded at least one block in 28 of the Aztecs' 29 matches this season. She ranks 10th in the Mountain West in league matches with a .300 hitting percentage. She is the only freshman to rank among the league's top 10 in that category.

UTCHEN DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Freshman setter Lauren Utchen just missed her third double-double of the year when she finished with 22 assists and nine digs at Utah State on Nov. 14. She recorded her first collegiate double-double with 20 assists and 14 digs in the win at Fresno State on Oct. 10. She added her second double-double with 27 assists and 11 digs in the match against Boise State on Oct. 17.

JONES SETTING IT UP
Junior setter Hailey Jones set her SDSU career high with three kills at Utah State on Nov. 14. She has averaged 2.00 digs per set over SDSU's last four contests. She recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 26 assists and 10 digs in the contest at UNLV on Oct. 8. Her mark of 7.07 assists per set ranks ninth in the Mountain West this week. Jones' 57 assists in the match vs. CSU Bakersfield were the most by an Aztec since Johnna Fouch recorded 61 against Fresno State on Nov. 3, 2012.
