BOISE, Idaho - The San Diego State volleyball team opened a string of three consecutive road matches with a three-set loss at Boise State Thursday evening in Bronco Gym. BSU won the contest with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-8.

With the victory, the Broncos improved to 19-7 overall and 11-3 in Mountain West play. The Aztecs, meanwhile, saw their record drop to 9-19 (6-9 MW).

Redshirt freshman Deja Harris led San Diego State with nine kills and also contributed a pair of blocks. Danielle Bolden finished with seven kills and registered five digs and a block.

Libero Devyn Pritchard led the Aztecs with seven digs while setter Hailey Jones had 17 assists and six digs.

It was a tough night for the SDSU offense, which ended the evening with 33 kills and a .069 hitting percentage as a team. A total of 26 attack errors, many due to the Broncos' 11 team blocks, were also a factor in the loss.

Boise State, meanwhile, hit .372 over the three sets and only had eight attack errors on the night.

In the opening set, BSU jumped out to a 10-4 lead to take control of the contest early. The Broncos built their advantage to as many as 10 points at 17-7 and from there coasted to the nine-point set victory. Harris had four kills to lead the Aztecs in the set, but the tam had almost as many errors (11) as kills (14).

Set number two was the closest of the three as it featured nine tied scores and four lead changes. The first half of the contest went back and forth until the score was knotted at 15-15. The Broncos then scored the next two points and led the rest of the way. The Aztecs fell behind by three at 23-20, but fought back to within a point at 24-23 before a kill by the home side gave it the two-point victory. Bolden, Harris and Baylee Little recorded four kills apiece in the set for SDSU, but the visitor fell just short of tying the match.

The close loss in the second set seemed to affect the Aztecs, who were dominated from the outset in the third set. Boise State scored the first six points of the contest and built its lead to 11-3. From there the Broncos extended that lead, finishing the set with the four straight points to win by 17. The Aztecs had only four kills in the set and hit -.261.

San Diego State will now move on to Logan, Utah, where it will face Mountain West foe Utah State on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7:00 p.m. (MT) in the Dee Glenn Smith Spectrum.
