SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team continues fall play with the annual SDSU Fall Invitational this weekend at the Aztec Tennis Center, beginning on Fri., Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. with one round of singles play followed by two rounds of doubles competition.

San Diego State, UC Irvine, Denver, USC, UCSD, San Diego, Grand Canyon, Washington and Pepperdine will be represented in the tournament. After competing at the Arizona's Wildcat Invitational two weeks ago, Jonas Meinzer, Raul de la Torre, Santiago Cevallos and Sander Gjoles-Anderson will make their 2015-16 season debut on Montezuma Mesa.

At the Wildcat Invitational earlier this season, Meinzer advanced to the tournament's singles final before falling 6-3, 7-6 in the final. Both de la Torre and Cevallos went 1-1 in singles play, while Gjoles-Anderson yielded a 2-0 outing in Tucson. The team's freshmen, Gjoles-Anderson and de la Torre, teamed up in doubles action, going 0-2, while Cevallos and Meinzer yielded a 1-1 mark as a doubles pairing.

Competing at Torrey Pines High for his senior season, de la Torre helped the Falcons to a CIF Southern California Regional title, going 31-1 in 2015.

Also a freshman, Gjoles-Anderson was ranked as high as No. 1 in Denmark's U-18 circuit and No. 3 in the country's senior national men's ranking, winning an ITF junior doubles title and qualifying for an ITF Futures main draw.

As a first-year Aztec in 2015, Cevallos recorded a 6-6 mark, clinching San Diego State's NCAA Championship match win over USD.

Meinzer posted a 8-5 mark during his sophomore campaign, going 4-3 in dual matches, earning a conference victory in doubles action with Thorsten Bertsch against Air Force.
