FORT COLLINS, Colo. - San Diego State began its two-match road trip to the Rockies with a three-set loss to No. 18 Colorado State Thursday night at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo. The loss dropped the Aztecs' record to 7-17 overall and 4-7 in the Mountain West.

CSU, meanwhile won for the 12th straight time and improved to 18-3 (11-0 MW). The home side hit .319 over the three sets while holding SDSU to a .083 hitting percentage.

Danielle Bolden led San Diego State with 10 kills while also registering four digs and two assists along with a pair of service aces.

Deja Harris contributed seven kills along with a team-high three blocks, a number that was matched by teammate Alexandra Psoma.

Libero Devyn Pritchard finished the evening with 14 digs while setters Hailey Jones and Lauren Utchen recorded 13 assists apiece with the latter adding seven digs to her final stat line.

The opening set saw the Aztecs fight back from an early three-point deficit to tie the contest at 9-9. But from there the Rams scored three straight points and led the rest of the way. SDSU got back to within two at 14-12, but CSU slowly extended its advantage en route to the eight-point win.

Set number two was similar to the first with SDSU trailing early and coming back to tie the game at 9-9. Colorado State then took the lead with two consecutive points, but the Aztecs stayed close and trailed by a single marker at 12-11. The Rams would then score seven of the next eight points to take command of the contest and eventually claim a 10-point victory.

The third set was the closest of the three as San Diego State was not about to go down without a fight. Although the Aztecs trailed again at 12-9, they stayed close to the Rams over the middle portion of the contest and fought back to tie the score at 20-20. Four straight kills gave the home side the 24-20 lead, but SDSU closed with within two on a kill and service ace before CSU put the set and match away with another kill.

San Diego State will now move on to Laramie where it will face Wyoming in Saturday, Oct. 31, in a Mountain West match scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m. (MT)
