LOS ANGELES - San Diego State men's soccer couldn't hold off perennial Pac-12 powerhouse UCLA in conference action Monday night, falling to the Bruins, 4-0, in Los Angeles.

UCLA's record moved to 2-1-0 against Pac-12 teams and is 6-5-0 this season. The Aztecs are now 0-3 in conference play, maintaining a 5-4-2 record overall.

Starting goalkeeper Adam Allmaras held the line against UCLA, making three big stops in the first half, two of which came in the opening seven minutes, to keep the match scoreless.

But 15 minutes into the second half, the Bruins showed some of the magic that got them to the NCAA College Cup last season. Team-leading goal scorer Seyi Adekoya sent a blast to Allmaras' left to give UCLA the 1-0 lead.

A little over one minute later, Jose Hernandez converted a penalty kick to double the Bruins' lead at 2-0, and added a second marker just 21 seconds later.

Stephen Payne would secure UCLA's fourth and final goal with a converted penalty kick in the 75th minute.

The Bruins out-shot San Diego State, 15-3, taking four corner kicks. Rene Reyes, Casey Macias and Dallin Cutler each took one shot for the Scarlet and Black. Allmaras (3-4-2) recorded six saves during the match.

The Aztecs return to San Diego this weekend to make their 2015 Pac-12 debut on Montezuma Mesa with contests against California and No. 3 Stanford. San Diego State welcomes the Golden Bears on Fri., Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. and the Cardinal on Sun., Oct. 18 at 11:30 a.m.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Adam Allmaras is the Aztecs' Man of the Match. The redshirt-sophomore made six saves against UCLA, a season-high, and held the Bruins scoreless for 65 minutes.
