SAN DIEGO - The third and final day of the women's tennis SDSU Fall Classic I has been canceled due to inclement weather. The annual three-day tournament held at Aztec Tennis Center had seen sunny skies for the first two days. The cancellation is the first due to weather since its inception.
The Aztecs posted 13 victories over the first two days of the event. Tami Nguyen and Kennedy Davis had reached the final in their draw but were to face different opponents to avoid team play. Dora Somoracz was also set to compete in the final of her bracket, scheduled to take on Maureen Slattery of Denver for the gold draw title.
In doubles play, Nugyen and Jana Buth had posted a perfect weekend in the red draw. The duo were schedule to face Sonja Radosevic and Bianca Mok of Denver for the championship title.
San Diego State will get back in action on Oct. 15 when it will participate in the ITA Regional to be held at Barnes Tennis Center in Point Loma, Calif.
