SAN DIEGO - The first 20,000 fans in attendance to San Diego State’s football game against Fresno State on Saturday (Oct. 3) will receive a free Aztec Calendar Hat, SDSU athletics announced today. The game, which is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. PT at Qualcomm Stadium, is also a part of Family Weekend at San Diego State.

The hat is similar to SDSU’s new football helmet with the Aztec Calendar appearing on the hat’s bill. The hat will be presented by Banc of California and Associated Students.

The Aztec Calendar Hat giveaway is part of a host of festivities that will take place prior to the San Diego State-Fresno State game. From 5-7 p.m. PT, there will be a Pepsi Student Tailgate, which will feature free food, shirt giveaways and live bands thanks to Gigtown. There will be four bands playing at once, including two at the Pepsi Student Tailgate and another two (one acoustic) at the Aztec Village.

The Aztec Warrior Walk will also start at approximately 5:30 p.m. PT as the Aztec Marching Band Drumline leads the football team to the stadium from the team bus stop in parking lot F-4 to the Qualcomm Stadium tunnel. Fans are encouraged to attend and cheer on the SDSU football team.

SDSU students can pick up their free ticket at Viejas Arena box office or at Qualcomm Stadium on game night with a valid Red ID. Tickets to the general public can be purchased at GoAztecs.com, by calling (619) 283-7378 or visiting the Aztec Athletic Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium Window E.

San Diego State (1-3) has won 12 straight home conference contests against unranked opponents, six straight home conference games and is 11-1 over its last 12 home conference games overall.
