Team Notes
- The Aztecs played their first overtime game since Nov. 23, 2013, against Boise State and fell to 4-2 in overtime games under Rocky Long. The loss snaps a two-game overtime winning streak.
- SDSU failed to score first for just the second time over its last 11 games.
- San Diego State had scored in the first quarter in 10 straight games, prior to tonight. That was the team's longest streak since at least 2001.
- The Aztecs finished with 17 points in the second quarter, their most in any quarter since scoring 21 in the second quarter vs. UNLV on Sept. 27, 2014.
- The Aztecs fall to 15-2 since Sept. 8, 2012 when committing one turnover or less.
- San Diego State has its 10-game winning streak snapped when it does not throw an interception.
- San Diego State falls to 0-1 all-time against South Alabama. The same two teams play in Mobile, Ala., on Oct. 1, 2016.

- SDSU started with the ball of the 41st time over the last 44 games.
- San Diego State won the coin toss for the 11th time over its 13 games and decided to start with the ball.
- The Aztecs have now gone 106 games without suffering a shutout (Nov. 18, 2006 at TCU), which is the third-longest streak among current Mountain West schools (Air Force at 274 and Boise State at 228. That is the only time SDSU has been shut out in their last 200 games.

- Returned five punts for a career-high 106 yards, averaging 21.2 yards per return.
- He had 106 punt-return yards after having 205 in all of 2014. In 2015, he has 108 punt-return yards.

- Threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Maxwell Smith, his second attempt and completion of his career, and first touchdown pass.

- The 100-yard rushing game was his 14th of his career and the Aztecs are now 10-4 when he rushes for at least 100 yards.
- Has 2,868 career rushing yards, which is the fourth-most in SDSU history. Pumphrey, who started the night seventh all-time in school history, passed Adam Muema for fourth all-time (2,852).

* Chase Price, Sr., RB (4 att., 41 yds.)
- Rushed for 41 yards on four attempts (10.2 avg.).
- Broke 1,000 yards for his career with a 35-yard rush in the first quarter.
- He has 1,008 career rushing yards.

* Donny Hageman, Sr., PK (2-for-3 FG | 3-for-3 PAT)
- Was 2-for-3 (made 40 and 54, missed 41) on field-goal attempts tonight and was perfect on PATs (3-for-3).
- The 54-yard field goal was tied for the second longest in Aztec history and the longest since Chris O'Brien hit a 54-yarder at Air Force on Nov. 2, 1985.
- The 54-yard field goal was the longest in program history at an elevation below 6,000 feet.
- The 54-yard field goal matched the longest in Mountain West history at a city with an elevation below 4,600 feet.
- Coming into the weekend, only Daniel Carlson of Auburn (56 yards) had a longer made field goal.
- Made multiple field goals for the second time this season and ninth time of his career.

- Was 12-for-26 for 158 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions.
- Completed a season-high 12 passes and had a season-high 158 yards passing.
- Also caught his first career pass, a 7-yard touchdown from WR Lloyd Mills.
- Threw his second touchdown pass as an Aztec and 23rd of his career.

* Mikah Holder, So., WR (2 rec., 39 yds., 1 TD)
- Had two catches for 39 yards and one touchdown.
- The 30-yard touchdown catch was the first of his career.

* Damontae Kazee, Jr., CB (11 tackles (10 solo), 1 FF, 2 PBU)
- Had a career-high 11 tackles, surpassing his previous high of 10 at Ohio State on Sept. 7, 2013.
- Matched his career high with one forced fumble, which was his first of the season.
- Had a two passes broken up, which was a season high.

* Malik Smith, Jr., Warrior (11 tackles (5 solo), 1.0 TFL)
- Had a career-high 11 tackles, surpassing his previous best of 10 at Boise State on Nov. 15. 2014, and Nevada on Oct. 4, 2013.
- Had a season-best 1.0 tackle for loss.
- Posted his third career double-figure tackle game.

* Na'im McGee, Jr., Aztec (11 tackles (3 solo), 1.0 TFL, 1 PBU)
- Posted a career-high 11 tackles, surpassing his previous best of nine vs. Idaho on Nov. 8, 2014.
- Tied a career high with his 1.0 tackle for loss and his one PBU matched a career best.

* Ryan Dunn, So., LB (10 tackles (4 solo))
- Made a career-high 10 tackles. His previous best was six at California on Sept. 12, 2015.
- He came into the game with a total of 11 tackles in his career.

Other Notes
- J.J. Whittaker started for the 29th consecutive game, which leads all Aztecs (doesn't include specialists).
- Jeff Overbaugh, Pierre Romain and Jon Sanchez each played in their 42nd straight game, the most of any current SDSU player.
- Senior Christian Heyward played for the first time on the season after missing the first two games with an injury.
- Tonight's honor Aztec Warrior was former wide receiver Kassim Osgood.
