July 21, 2015 SAN DIEGO -
Members of the San Diego State athletic department completed a successful #SDSUNight at Petco Park on Tuesday night.
Staff members from the Aztec football team, men's basketball team and women's basketball team were in attendance, including head coaches Rocky Long, Steve Fisher and Stacie Terry, respectively. The team staff members were joined by SDSU football's seniors and junior running back Donnel Pumphrey, and other administrative staff members across multiple departments.
Long, Fisher and Terry each spoke to San Diego State fans atop the Western Metal Supply Co. building and mingled with the crowd throughout the festive night.
The 14 seniors in attendance - Robert Craighead, Jake Fely, Dakota Gordon, Darrell Greene, Donny Hageman, Jemond Hazely, Christian Heyward, Jeff Overbaugh, Chase Price, Pierre Romain, Jon Sanchez, Pearce Slater, Maxwell Smith and J.J. Whittaker - walked out onto the field pregame before Heyward and Pumphrey each threw out the ceremonial first pitches. Later on, Whittaker was the guest ringer of the Mission Bell, ringing it three times as tradition indicates when the San Diego Padres took the field.
During the game, Long was a guest in the Fox Sports San Diego TV booth and The Mighty 1090 radio booth, while Whittaker was a fifth-inning guest of Kris Budden from Fox Sports San Diego.
