The 22nd-ranked San Diego State women's golf team wrapped up action at the PING/ASU Invitational on Sunday at Karsten Golf Course by recording a 3-over 294 to ultimately finish in a tie for 12th place (20-over 884) with No. 22 Alabama. The Aztecs' final round score was tied with No. 25 Arizona State for the second-best effort of the day, two strokes behind 28th-ranked Baylor's 1-over 29.

SDSU's performance helped it move up three spots in the team standings from Saturday and allowed them to finish ahead of second-ranked Washington (886; +22; 14th place). The Aztecs also performed better over the three-day tournament than the other Mountain West school in the field, No. 16 UNLV, which recorded a 31-over 895 to come in 15th place in the 15-team field.

Mila Chaves was San Diego State's top performer after carding a 1-under 71 over the final 18 holes that featured four birdies. Her effort gave her a cumulative total of 220, which was good for 4-over par and a tie for 27th place, up 25 spots from Saturday. The freshman from Paraguay tied her second-best single-round score of the year and was two strokes shy of matching her season-low accomplished at the UC Irvine Invitational.

Georgia Lacey enjoyed a vault up the individual leaderboard as well, climbing seven spots to register a 45th-place tie (220; +7). The freshman from Torrey Pines High School finished the tourney on a strong note by going birdie, par, birdie to eventually equal her best round of the event with a 2-over 74.

Sharing the tied-for-45th-place spot with Lacey was Emma Henrikson, who finished with a 3-over 75 after carding consecutive 74s to open the Invitational. Following a plus-3 effort on her first nine holes, the junior settled down by playing even golf the rest of the way, including a 1-under performance over the final six holes.

Sirene Blair entered the clubhouse for the last time of the tournament in a tie for 52nd place. She struggled in the third round, posting a 5-over 77 to finish at plus-8 (224). Teammates Haleigh Krause and Paige Spiranac rounded out SDSU's squad for the weekend. Krause, who competed as an individual, turned in a 6-over 78 to complete the tourney in a tie for 79th place (232; +16). Spiranac, meanwhile, after experiencing trouble the first two days, enjoyed her best round, a 1-under 71. The 71 matched her best round of the year which was originally set at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in September. Her 54-hole total was 233 (+17).

The Aztecs will return to action April 20-22, at the Mountain West Championship at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.
