BOISE, Idaho -
Senior Lorena Bauer (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) set a San Diego State single-game record with three home runs and seven RBIs to lift the Aztec softball team to a 16-2, five-inning victory over Boise State Saturday afternoon in Boise, Idaho. SDSU, which also received five RBIs from senior Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.), improved to 22-12 on the season and 5-0 in Mountain West play, and have won nine consecutive league games dating back to last year.
Bauer hit a two-run homer in the top of the third inning, a grand slam in the fourth and solo one in the fifth. Bauer, who finished the game 4-for-4 with the single-game record seven RBIs and three runs, also added a single in the first. The three home runs give her 51 for her career in just 185 career games and 10 this season. The fourth inning homer was her second grand slam of the season. Over the two games vs. the Broncos (8-27, 0-5 MW) this weekend, Bauer is 6-for-7 (.857) with four home runs, eight RBIs and five runs, while owning a 2.714 slugging percentage and a .875 on-base mark.
Miles added an RBI single in the fourth and a grand slam in the fifth as SDSU banged out 13 hits in the game.
BSU took a 2-1 lead on two unearned runs in the bottom of the first, but San Diego State scored five runs apiece in the third, fourth and fifth innings for its first run-rule victory of the year.

She didn't give up a hit over the final 2 1/3 innings and improved to 20-9 on the year.
