SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Diego State won 11 of 14 events as it defeated the University of San Diego, 139-106, Friday afternoon at the USD Sports Center Pool. With the victory the Aztecs improved to 17-0 in dual meet action this season.
Senior Chelsea Bailey got the meet started for SDSU as she swam leadoff leg of the victorious 200 medley relay quartet that turned in a time of 1:45.14. Bailey was joined on that winning relay by fellow seniors Emilee Campbell, Loreen Whitfield and Maddy Dalcamo.
Bailey would go on to post first-place finishes in both the 100 backstroke (57.58) and 200 backstroke (2:10.04) races and also swim the anchor leg of the winning 400 free relay squad.
Campbell was SDSU's only other swimmer to capture a pair of individual races as she won the 100 (1:03.52) and 200 (2:17.30) breaststroke events. Her time in the 200 breast was a career best and goes into the SDSU record book as the fifth-fastest in program history.
