2015 San Diego State Women's Water Polo Schedule

San Diego State water polo head coach Carin Crawford is pleased to the 2015 schedule, which will begin on Jan. 17, when the Aztecs play in the annual alumni game held at Aztec Aquaplex.

The season officially kicks off on Feb. 5, when it plays host to Hartwick College, which visits SDSU for the fourth straight season. Last year, the Aztecs won the game with a 10-5 decision over the Hawks, claiming its fourth-straight win to open the season.

Following the game, the Aztecs will move on to play in the UCSD Triton Invitational at nearby UC San Diego. The event is scheduled for the weekend of Feb. 7-8.

After the invitational, San Diego State will then makes its way north to visit Fresno Pacific. The Golden Coast Conference opener is set for Feb. 13, before competing in the FPU Mini Tournament the next day.

The Aztecs will have a seven-day break before traveling to Irvine for the UCI Invitational slated for Feb. 21-22. The two-day event will welcome some of the top-ranked schools in the nation.

Two straight home games will greet the Aztecs upon their arrival at SDSU when UC Irvine (Feb. 27) and Long Beach State (Feb. 28) visit Montezuma Mesa. The Aztecs will make a brief trip to Riverside where they will meet Cal Baptist for a league game on March 7, before returning to campus for a busy three-day stretch that will include a GCC game vs. Pacific (March 13) and the annual Aztec Invitational (March 14-15).

Four days after the conclusion of the Aztec Invitational, SDSU will head to Loyola Marymount (March 19) to continue its conference slate. Last year, San Diego State won the regular-season game vs. the Lions in San Diego, 6-5. Following the game, SDSU will continue its stay in Los Angeles to compete at the LMU Invitational, March 20-21.

A week later, the Aztecs will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii, to play the Rainbow Wahine on March 27, before they compete in the UH Invitational set to last through the weekend (March 28-29). After their trip over the Pacific Ocean, the squad will end its season by competing at home where SDSU will play host to GCC foes Azusa Pacific (April 10) and Santa Clara (April 11), before closing with UC San Diego on Senior Day (April 18).

The April 18 game is the customary Harper Cup contest vs. the Aztecs' crosstown foe, UCSD. SDSU will look to reclaim the Cup after losing it for the first time in 13 years last season.

San Diego State will then play for the Golden Coast Championship at the three-day league tournament in Stockton (April 23-25).

The Aztecs, who won the first-ever GCC regular-season title and were finalists in the championship game last year, finished 2014 with a 23-12 record, their highest win total since 2008 when they won 31 games.
