RED-BLACK ALL-COMERS MEET RESULTS

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State track and field team hosted another successful Red-Black Intrasquad/All-Comers Meet on Dec. 6.

Almost 250 athletes, ranging from ages 6 to 84, competed at the meet on Dec. 6. The meet was the second the San Diego Track Club/USA Track and Field San Diego-Imperial Association Winter Track Series under almost perfect San Diego conditions.

In addition to providing the local track and field community an opportunity to compete side-by-side with NCAA Division I athletes, the meet also kicks off the 2015 indoor track season for the Aztecs. The San Diego State squad was broken into Red and Black teams that competed for bragging rights heading into the winter break and indoor track and field season. This year the Black Team carried the day by a wide margin at 87 to 49.

SDSU wins on the day came from Holly Waseloff in the pole vault (12-03.50 (3.75m)), Micha Auzenne in the high jump (5-05.00 (1.65m)) and 60-meter dash (7.53), Burrell in the shot put (47-06.25 (14.48m)), discus throw (166-10 (50.87m)) and weight throw (65-09 (20.04m)), Rachel Alesi in the javelin throw (111-01 (33.87m)), the 4x200-meter relay of Karsen Sper, Starlynn Singleton, Jazmen Bunch and Renetia James in 1:41.62, Chelsea Kruthers in the 1,000 (3:02.31), Tyra Lea in the 300 (39.97), Ellison Grove in the 600 (1:36.25), Simone Glenn in the 150 (18.17), Elaine Ribeiro in the 3,000 (10:29.89) and the 4x400 team of Lea, Glenn, Ashley Henderson and James in 3:59.03.

San Diego State is coming off another fine season in 2014, tying for 19th at the NCAA Indoor Championships and taking 12th at the outdoor meet.

The Aztecs are one of just 14 teams in the country and one of just two from non-Power 5 conferences to finish among the top 25 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in three straight years (2012-14).

SDSU officially kicks off its 2015 campaign at the NAU Friday Night Duals in Flagstaff, Ariz., on Jan. 16.
