Bowl Bound For A School-Record Fifth Straight Season, SDSU Stays Home To Face Navy In Poinsettia Bowl At Qualcomm Stadium
• San Diego State makes its 13th bowl appearance, the ninth in 46 seasons as a Division I school and will play in a school-record fifth consecutive bowl game on Dec. 23 when it faces Navy in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. PT on ESPN, The Mighty 1090, The Max 105.7 FM and ESPN radio.
• The Aztecs are one of just 27 schools nationally to play in a bowl game each of the past five seasons.
• From the state of California - college or pro - only SDSU and Stanford have made the postseason each of the last five years.
• Among the "Group of 5" Conferences, San Diego State joins Boise State and Northern Illinois as the only schools to play in a bowl game at the conclusion of each of the last five seasons.
• The Aztecs own a 6-6 record in bowl games, including a 3-5 mark in the Division I era. Coupled with a 49-24 victory over Buffalo in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl last season, SDSU is looking to win bowl games in consecutive years for the first time in the Division I era and the first time overall since the 1966 and 1967 seasons.
• San Diego State is playing in the Poinsettia Bowl for a third time. The Aztecs were victorious in 2010, defeating Navy, 35-14. In 2012, SDSU dropped a 23-6 decision to Brigham Young.
• Rocky Long has guided SDSU to a bowl game in each of his first four seasons as the head coach. Long is one of 19 coaches to guide his current school to a bowl appearance in each of his first four seasons.

We Know Academies
• San Diego State has won eight consecutive games against service academy teams (Air Force, Army and Navy). That is the longest-active win streak in the nation, one ahead of Notre Dame and Rutgers.
• SDSU's Rocky Long owns 11 victories as a head coach over service academy teams. Among active FBS head coaches (since 1996), that is tied for the second-highest total in the nation, trailing only Gary Patterson, TCU (13). In addition to Long, Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson and Navy's Ken Niumatalolo each have 11 wins.

Winning At Aztec Warrior Stadium
• San Diego State enters the bowl game with an eight-game home field winning streak. That is tied for the eighth-longest active home win streak in the nation.
• The Aztecs' last home win streak of at least eight games was a 16-game stretch from Oct. 16, 1976 through Nov. 5, 1978.
• SDSU has won nine consecutive home games against teams that were not ranked in the top 25 at the time of the game.
• San Diego State is 6-0 at home this season. The Aztecs have not completed a perfect home record in a season since 1996, when SDSU went 6-0 at home en route to an 8-3 overall record.

Season Cliff Notes
• San Diego State ended the 2014 regular season by winning five of its final seven games. • The Aztecs ended conference play with a 5-3 record and a first-place tie for the Mountain West West Division title.
• SDSU won all seven of its games this season by double digits. San Diego State was one of four schools (also Arkansas, Miami (Fla.) and Rice), to own a winning record and with each win coming by double figures.

• In seven victories this season, SDSU owned a turnover margin of +7. In the five losses, San Diego State was -4 in the category.
