SEATTLE -

SDSU Head Coach Steve Fisher

On shooting 20 percent from the field:
"Well I think Washington had a whole lot to do with the way the flow of the game went. I thought early on we looked at the opportunities to score at the rim, several of them were shots we didn't make. Maybe we rushed those. Then they blocked us several times and then every shot we took after that was you know as if we were hoping they would go in. So that had a lot to do with it, they were long and athletic but we went through a stretch where we just lowered our head and just drove with no thoughtfulness. We drove for ourselves rather than driving for others. We drove in and there's three people standing there and the result was 20% or less than 20%. Washington had a lot to do with it."

On Washington's guards, Nigel Williams-Goss and Andrew Andrews:
"Well they're good players. I don't know within the flow when they got going. There was one stretch where we still in my own mind had a chance. They had a shot we defended, they missed it and we didn't box out it went right outside. I think it went out to Andrews and he shot it into from the three up to and then I think he had another three right after that. It went from 6 or 7 to 13 or 14 and we were never even had an opportunity to think we had a chance after that. They're good players. Goss is a guy who's got a lot of moxie and Andrews can play. He plays off of him. They're very good."

On the impact of this game on his team:
"Well, they scored 21 pts in the first half, we had a basket at the end of the half. I went in with my theme being they let us off the hook. We should be down 14 or 15 points. We're 6 points behind. We're going to win the game. And then we talked about what we had to do and come up with what we thought would be an opportunity to get JJ off in the second half and in the very first play in the second half. Our offense was bad and that's the only way you could put it, and they had a lot to do with that. We had a lot to do with that."
