SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State track and field team has signed Sierra Brabham-Lawrence (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg High School) to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Shelia Burrell announced today. Brabham-Lawrence joins a program that is one of 14 teams and one of just two from non-Power 5 conferences to finish among the top 25 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in three straight years (2012-14).

Brabham-Lawrence will join the Aztecs in the fall of 2015.

"We are very excited to have Sierra join our team in 2014," head coach Shelia Burrell said. "She is an immediate impact student-athlete. She is a special athlete that can compete in more than one event area on a national stage. I'm looking forward to watching her develop over the remainder of her senior year of high school and coach her at SDSU."

Brabham-Lawrence comes to The Mesa as a decorated athlete at Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Pa., where she was the 2014 PIAA AAA state champion in the triple jump and the 2014 indoor champion in the 60 hurdles, with her best indoor 60 hurdles time coming in at 8.45 seconds. Brabham-Lawrence won three District III titles last year, including in the 300-meter hurdles (42.91), triple jump (39-09.00) and the 4x400-meter relay.

An AAU national champion in the 400 hurdles (59.68) and indoor USATF Youth 55 hurdles in 2014, Brabham-Lawrence also was a two-time District III AAA 100 hurdles champion, a three-time Mid Penn Conference 100 hurdles winner and the 2014 Mid Penn Conference champion on the 300 intermediate hurdles. She comes to SDSU with outdoor personal bests of 13.73 in the 100 hurdles, 24.72 in the open 200 and a 55.2 relay split in the 4x400 meter relay.

Brabham-Lawrence also competed for the 717 ELITE track club in Harrisburg, earning all-state accolades in the hurdles (60, 100 and 300) and the triple jump under coach Dr. James Manning. She set team records in both the 300 hurdles and triple jump at the club. Brabham-Lawrence also played volleyball at Harrisburg HS, twice earning all-conference honors as a middle hitter.

San Diego State plays host to the Red and Black All-Comers Meet on Dec. 6 and officially kicks off its 2015 campaign at the NAU Friday Night Duals in Flagstaff, Ariz., on Jan. 16.
