Oct. 22, 2014 SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego State baseball team will holds its fourth annual Halloween Game on Sunday, Oct. 26, at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Coaches and players will all be in costume for the contest, which is scheduled to get underway at 4:30 p.m.
Stadium gates will open at 3:30 p.m. and there is no charge for admission. All fans who attend will receive special Halloween treats during the course of the game.
The Aztecs are into the third week their fall practice season as they gear up for their 2015 campaign. Sunday's game will give the team a break from the normal practice routine and a chance for fans to enjoy a fun afternoon of baseball
SDSU returns 20 letterwinners from the 2014 squad that captured a second consecutive Mountain West Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Regional. The 2015 team is led by third-team all-American Ty France and all-conference honoree Bubba Derby. Also back are all-NCAA Regional team member Ryan Muno plus all MW tourney selections Brett Seeburger and Steven Pallares.
The Aztecs have added a group of 15 newcomers that includes three athletes drafted by Major League clubs last June, a pair of all-state honorees and two others named to all-CIF teams.
San Diego State will open its 2015 season on Friday, Feb. 13, at 6:00 p.m. when it hosts Valparaiso at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
